BOB! The Best Of the Best!

USP - BOB the Best of the Best

Whilst I was consulting in Malaysia, the coaches Sean and Erik from the Malaysian Institute of Sport took me on some tours of the local sites.

One of the places we visited was The Cheong Fatt Tze mansion in Penang which was voted one of the 10 greatest mansions in the world!

USP - Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion
Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion in Penang

The mansion was built by Cheong Fatt Tze, one of Chinas most successful business men.

His vision for the blue mansion was to be the most luxurious, lavish and elaborate mansion outside of China.

In order to complete the project Cheong Fatt Tze bought in:

The Best of the Best Architects…

The Best of the Best Builders…

The Best of the Best Feng Shui Masters…

The Best of the Best Housing and Construction Materials…

No matter what the cost nor the waiting time, Cheong Fatt Tze wanted the BEST Of the BEST for his mansion and he wasn’t willing to settle for second best!

And he got it…no stone was left unturned in his quest for the BEST and the house still stands to this day; a testament to the construction, materials and workmanship!

I immediately thought about athletes and how important it is to have The Best Of the Best when trying to reach elite levels of performance!

Kurt Tippett says as an Elite Athlete you’ve got to train with the best to be the best!

Whilst listening to the fascinating history of the mansion and its owner it made me think about the quality and service we provide at Ultimate Sports Performance.

Our Massage Therapist has been massaging for 60+ years….his hands have massaged more world class athletes than almost any massage therapist in the world…his experience and ability to get athletes pain and injury free are just the norm for him in my opinion his results are phenomenal.

I would be more inclined to listen to his advice regarding muscle tone, injuries than a newcomer with less experience…he is booked up for 12 weeks in advance and truly loves what he does!

Our acupuncturist…has more than 40 years experience and has studied in all the major acupuncture centres around the world….whilst some would consider him to be expensive the price to be pain free and performing at 100% week in week out is a small price to pay for something that has the potential to add significant value to our athletes’ sporting contracts.

Our podiatrist…has lectured internationally, consults with some of Australia’s best Olympic athletes and PGA Golfers. He was one of the pioneers for the development of foot strength protocols instead of the prescription of orthotics for everyone…he’s booked up 6 months in advance and has been a catalyst for accelerated recovery times for any of our athletes that have sustained serious foot or ankle injuries.

Our functional medicine doctor is pushing 80+ years of age and is the god father of functional medicine having pushed the boundaries for nutrition, supplementation and correlations to blood chemistries. His relentless quest for knowledge of elite cutting edge nutrition and supplementation ensures our athletes health and performance are ahead of their competition.

Although we don’t use them a lot…our physiotherapist was heavily involved with the AIS when it was first developed back in the early 80’s. He was head hunted by a relatively unsuccessful national sporting team which experienced 3 years grand final premiership success whilst he was there! The head coach of the national sporting team was quoted as saying that, “our medical staff deserve a premiership medallion as they have kept our best players on the field week in week out which has allowed us to WIN”!

I remember hearing about how a successful strength and conditioning coach answered a question to a potential client that enquired about he much he charged…

He answered the question by stating that, “You can see Trainer A down the road for $20 per session and 5 sessions with Trainer A would cost you $100.

I charge $100 per session but I get the same results Trainer A gets in 5 sessions, only I get the results in 1 session…

Who’s more valuable???

USP - Price vs Quality
In our experience Increased Price usually relates to Increased Quality!

Do you want the results now or in 5 weeks”?

He continued, I have produced world class results with every single I person that I have worked with including, World Record Holders, Olympic Gold Medalists, Junior athletes, Fitness Models, Bodybuilders, Business Executives, House Wives and regular average Joes.

I have the highest level of qualifications one can obtain as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

I have had 0 injuries whilst working with my clients.

He then went on to say that the $20 trainer could potentially cost you more in the long run, due to injury or opportunity costs.

Whilst he wasn’t denigrating Trainer A, he simply had to make the delineation between price comparison when selecting and purchasing a trainer to work with or to have coach you…

What he was really asking was, “Do you buy based on price or purchase based quality and results”????

How does this relate to Ultimate Sports Performance?

I’m inclined to think like the trainer outlined above, I feel that when athletes work with us they get a proven system and a track record of success with no risks involved!

When athletes work with me….they don’t just get me, they get my team of experts outlined above…world class experts that I have carefully selected (that has taken more than 15 years to find) and achieved great results with for more than a decade…

That is why when I look my athletes in the eyes, I know they are the Best Prepared a Step Ahead of the Competition…because we’ve got (The Best Of the Best) BOBS all over the place!!!!

And BOBS are one of the keys to our elite programs success!

Want success? Make sure you’ve got BOBS on your side!

All the best for the week,

Joey Hayes
